11:45a - Carry-in Meal (after morning worship)

1:00p - Cemetery Walk & Talk, led by Eunice Showalter;

begin in sanctuary with a history of the cemetery, description of its 3 parts and location of 2 previous church buildings, and video of drone fly-over of entire cemetery [video of inside presentation]

then move outside for walking tour.

 

Sun, Aug 7

7:00p - Video Presentation of 1997 Pageant ("Generation to Generation" by Grace Showalter; from our 175th anniversary celebration) [video—with captions]


Sun, Sept 11

2:00-4:00p [video of tour] - Tour of Historical Sites near Trissels church led by Elwood Yoder.

Ride an EMHS bus to sites: 1) Rhodes house [Abraham Shank house and Samuel & Catherine Shank house can also be seen from there], 2) Rhodes family cemetery, 3) Showalter house [Woodlands Church Rd], 4) Brunk homestead marker.

Lecture & Book Signing of Under the Oaks: A History of TrisselsMennonite Church, Broadway, Virginia, 1822-2022 by Elwood Yoder; 

refreshments of cider and pretzels.

7:00p [video] [YouTube livestream] - free Homecoming Concert by two who grew up at Trissels

Madeline Bender is an international opera singer who founded and directed the annual Voices of Hope Opera Gala raising money for MCC’s Global Family Program and also founded and directs a performing arts collective in NYC  [video clip of one song].

Jerry Derstine/JD Martin is a songwriter whose songs appear in our hymnals and also include many Number One and Top Ten country and pop hit singles. He tells stories as he presents his heart-centered music [video clip of one song] [another song].
